One of Africa’s oldest forest. Being among the few that predate the arid conditions of the ice age,  the 325 km2 Bwindi impenetrable forest has carpeted the margin of the albertine rift valley for some 25,000 years,. During this time it has accumulated a remarkable biodiversity. Species counts include 350 birds, 310 butterfly, 200 trees, 51 different reptiles, 88 moths and 120 mammals.

SAFARI DETAILS.

DURATION:

DAY 1: ARRIVAL

On Arrival at Entebbe International Airport, You will be warmly welcomed to the Pearl of Africa by our guide who will transfer you to your hotel of choice.

DAY 2: EQUATOR EXPERIENCE, PHOTO MOMENT AND TRASFER TO BWINDI IMPENETRABLE NATIONAL PARK.

On this day, we drive towards Bwindi Impenetrable National Park. En-route is an opportunity to break at the Equator line (which is an imaginary line on the earth equidistant from the poles dividing the earth into Southern hemisphere and Northern hemispheres and constituting the parallel of latitude zero degrees.

Here we are able to take Photos and have a live water experiment  to prove the Northern,Southern and zero degrees hemispheres. We then proceed to Bwindi Impenetrable National Park for a Night.

The Journey takes 7-8 hours with a full experience of exploring on the road.

DAY 3: GORILLA TRACKING IN BWINDI IMPENETRABLE NATIONAL PARK.

In the morning, you will join other team of trackers for a similar experience. You will be briefed by guides on many precautions such as safety measures, rules and regulations on how to behave when you come face to face with gental giants in their nature habitants. As their name implies, gorillas live in the mountains, at elevations of 8,000 to 13,000 feet They have a thicker fur, and more of it, compared to other great apes. The fur helps them to survive in the habitant where temperatures often drop below freezing.

There are just about 880 mountain gorillas left in the whole world and can be found in Uganda ,Rwand and DRC. They have 98% DNA match with humans which makes them close relatives. They are largest primates in the wrld with females weighing about 200 pounds and the males double.

Gorilla tracking depend on the movement of these giants hovever after finding them, clients are given an hour to stay and watch them.

DAY 4:  COMMUNITY CULTURAL TOUR EXPERIENCE.

We start the day with an early cultural tour and you will join and interact with the Batwa people, the only indigenous group of people in Uganda. The Batwa were known as the keepers of the forest. The Batwa survived by hunting small game using arrows or nets and gathering plant and fruits in the rain forest. They lived in huts constructed of leaves and branches,  moving frequently in search of fresh suppplies of food. The Batwa Lived in harmoney with the forest and its creatures, including mountain gorillas. You will learn from them forexample how to light fire with two dry sticks, an old fashioned method.

You will then experience their cultural dances which is their way of entertainment.  later we drive to Lake Bunyonyi for an evening Canoe ride on the lake.

DAY 5: DRIVE BACK TO KAMPALA.

In the morning, after breakfast, we drive back to Kampala breaking for lunch on our way. we shall have a stop at the Equator for craft shopping,
